New South Wales

New South Wales is a beautiful state with 1.300 km of coastline, golden sandy beaches, extensive national forests and mountain ski slopes. With its 6,8 million inhabitants, it is the most densely populated state of Australia. The state capital is Sydney, a truly multicultural city of 4,3 million people from over 100 ethnic groups. This exciting city has numerous attractions to offer. Fly by seaplane over Sydney harbour and the coastal beaches, climb the world famous Harbour Bridge or experience the Opera House. There are over 300 high schools in Sydney and regional New South Wales for international students. Please contact your EF office for more information about prices and availability in this state.

queensland

Queensland occupies 1.7 million square kilometres of land in the north-eastern corner of Australia. The state is Australia’s second largest by area and the country’s third most populous after New South Wales and Victoria. The people of Queensland enjoy an outdoor lifestyle with world class beaches and waterways, national parks, rainforests and tropical reefs. The pleasant climate (average summer temperatures of 25°C, average winter temperatures of 15°C) means that Queenslanders enjoy more winter sunshine and warmth than most other Australian states. This is where it gets the nickname ‘The Sunshine State’. Queensland also has a large proportion of tropical climate.

South Australia

80% of South Australia is covered by an area called Flinders Ranges and Outback. It’s a region of great diversity: you’ll find ancient ranges steeped in Aboriginal legend, bird-filled lakes in the middle of the desert, pink parallel dunes and pretty Flinders Ranges towns. The capital of South Australia is Adelaide with a population of 1.2 million inhabitants which is over 70% of South Australia’s total population. Adelaide is the fifth biggest city in Australia. Nestled between some of Australia’s best metropolitan beaches and the Mt Lofty Ranges, it is a clean, attractive city surrounded by green park lands. Please contact your EF office for more information about prices and availability in this state.

victoria

Hugging the tip of the Australian east coast, Victoria is Australia’s second-smallest state. Here you will find a wealth of diverse regional areas and attractions, from sweeping coastline and beaches to national parks and forests teeming with wildlife. Amongst the regions you’ll find wineries, lakes and mountains that offer skiing, climbing and hiking. Many of Victoria’s unique and varied landscapes are easily accessible as day trips from Melbourne. Despite its small size, the Victorian climate varies across the state. The north is much drier and warmer than the south. Areas include Melbourne – an exciting, multicultural city with a rich culture, Mornington Peninsula and Grampians – an adventurer’s paradise with climbing, canoeing, Aboriginal art and national parks.
