Writing a letter to parents

Participate in a Writing a letter to parents activity designed to engage students in a fun and interactive way while exploring Sydney and practising English.

Welcome Tour

A great introduction of Sydney and its famous landmarks. We will be taking a combination of train and a ferry to see the harbour and the Sydney CBD. Our local guide will tell you some histories about the Opera House, Harbour Bridge & Darling Harbour.

Don't stop the Music

This activity is all about music, singing and dancing. The idea is to set up a series of musical challenges for groups of students to compete in. For those who are music mad, this activity is a winner.

The Rocks & Pylon

Stroll along one of the oldest parts of Sydney filled with history and charm. The Rocks is one of the most historical precincts in the Sydney Harbour that offer many convicts stories that many people do not know about. Our local guide will retell these stories as students will be given a profile of several convicts and they have to figure out whose stories are told by deducing the information. Afterwards, students get the chance to ascend up to one of the Pylons of the famed Harbour Bridge to gain a unique view of the Sydney CBD.

Maritime Museum

Located on the waterfront at Darling Harbour, the Australian National Maritime Museum offers a captivating journey through Australia’s rich maritime history. Explore iconic vessels, such as the replica of Captain Cook’s HMB Endeavour, a cold-war era submarine, and the imposing naval destroyer HMAS Vampire. The museum’s interactive exhibits showcase everything from Indigenous maritime traditions to Australia’s role in global trade and immigration.

Night Games

Step into the enchanting world of nighttime fun! As the sun sets, our Nighttime Games activity comes alive. Join us for a series of thrilling games under the starry sky, including the classic favourite, "Spotlight." Run, hide, and seek in the dark, all while practicing English vocabulary and commands. Communicate with your teammates, strategize your moves, and express your excitement as you navigate the night's challenges. So, grab your torch, prepare for excitement, and let's have some fun!

Movie Afternoon / Night

It's time to relax and enjoy some down time to unwind with a movie and a popcorn. We will have a vote to choose a classic Aussie Movie. You will discuss the movie in your class the next day.

Hermitage Forshore Walk

One of Sydney’s great coastal walks, the easy Hermitage Foreshore track offers up stunning views of Sydney’s harbour, islands and icons. Be sure to take your camera as there are plenty of photo opportunities along this walk; you’ll be able to see Shark Island, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the grounds of Strickland House along the way. You can start the walk at either Bayview Hill Road or Nielsen Park and whichever way you walk, a stop at Nielsen Park is a way to spend some time. There are gorgeous views to enjoy, lots of grass for spreading out a picnic blanket and the peaceful sounds of birdsong and waves lapping at the shore.

Afternoon Painting session

Unleash your inner artist in our afternoon painting session! 🎨🌟Whether you're an experienced painter or a first-timer, our leader will guide you to create an Australian masterpiece you'll be proud of. You will get the change to paint the landscapes that you would have visit earlier our your favourite Australian animals!

Aussie Sports Day

After an early start to school, it's time to get active for a couple of hours in the afternoon playing some sports. The Local Leader will be taking the student to a nearby park (Prince Alfred Park) where we will have a competitive match of different sports - tennis, soccer, cricket, etc. Students will be allocated a specific colour pertaining to a team to score points at the end of the day Medals will be awarded.

Time Capsule

Students can take this time to reflect on their stay in Australia and will be asked to write letters to their future selves about the experience, challenges, lessons learned and future goals. What was your favourite memory? What have your learned from this trip? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? This will be preserved in a personal time capsule, to be opened one day in the far future

EF Bingo

Get ready for an exciting game of Bingo, kids! 🎉 It's super popular in Australia. You'll have a special card with numbers, and a friendly leader will call them out one by one. When a number matches your card, mark it with a sticker! But this isn't your usual Bingo; it's EXTRA FUN! 🌟 You won't just wait for rows to fill; you're on the lookout for the moment to shout "Bingo!" 🎊 and win a fantastic prize!

Royal Botanic Garden

Established in 1816, the Royal Botanic Garden is Australia's oldest botanic garden and oldest living scientific institution. Home to over 27,000 individual plants, it is a heritage-listed garden full of unique species from all over the world, including Australian native flora. Students to participate on ascavenger hunt to find as many native Australian flora in the garden, write down their names and take a picture/draw it.

Trivia Night

Prepare for a challenging trivia experience in Sydney! 🌟 We are going to test yourAustralian knowledge, compete with students, and win prizes. It's an academic adventure in the land of kangaroos and koalas! 🐨📚

University of Sydney

Exploring the oldest (and the most prestigious) University in Australia, our local leader will guide you through the different campuses of Sydney Uni and talk you through the education system, admission process and general University life in Sydney. Ranked as the #19 best University in the world, known for its Medicine program - this institution is popular amongst budding international students. Students will come up with some interview questions to ask some University students ie. what they study, how long is their degree, structure of classes.

Sydney Tower Eye

With an unrivalled, 360-degree views of Sydney, Sydney Tower Eye is a great place to see many of Sydney's iconic and hidden icons. We will be spending the afternoon here with some educational activity to be completed by students. Students will be given a worksheet with a picture of Sydney's landmarks where they have to collect information on each landmark by reading the info plaques at the Observation Deck.

Fish Markets

Discover Sydney's best seafood in the popular tourist destination - Sydney's Fish Markets. The Local Leader will be taking you on a Light Rail (tram) ride from Haymarket straight to Fish Markets for lunch. Here students get to sample different types of fish & seafood, raw or cooked. There will be a space for everyone to dine and mingle together. A great chance to practise their English in ordering food too.

Blue Mountains

Our Blue Mountains one-day trip gives students a full taste of Australia’s natural beauty — from breathtaking lookouts at Echo Point and Wentworth Falls, to dramatic canyons at Govetts Leap. After exploring the mountains’ highlights, the day finishes with a magical stop at Euroka Clearing in the lower Blue Mountains, where kangaroos emerge at sunset to graze in the open fields. It’s the perfect mix of sightseeing, light walking, and a true wildlife encounter — all within a day’s journey from Sydney. We will be on the road for around 1.5-2 hours so we'll be playing some 'roadtrip' games to play during the bus ride eg. Category, I Spy, Name That Tune to get students excited and having fun.

Luna Park

Luna Park is Sydney's only amusement park where students get a chance to ride rollercoasters, ferris wheel and get their adrenaline going, overlooking the harbour. We will be spending a full day here to make the most of their time with an unlimited rides Day Pass. This activity will be supervised by the Course & Local Leaders, but you can also get them to come on the rollercoasters too!

Paper Plane competition

Paper Airplane Engineering and Design Challenge. Students will be engaging in a STEAM activity, which involves science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Each student will design their own paper airplane on a sheet of paper and then will fold their paper into an airplane. We will incorporate mathematics into this challenge and ask each student to measure and record the distance their airplanes traveled or the time they spent in the air. After the initial test flights, we will challenge the students to think like engineers. and ask them to make adjustments or modifications to their airplanes to make them fly farther, higher, or straighter. This involves critical thinking and problem-solving.Artistic Touch: Encourage the kids to decorate their improved paper airplanes, incorporating artistic elements into the design. At the end there will be a flight competition where the students can launch their improved paper airplanes and measure the results (distance, height, or flight time).

Opera House Tour

Marvel the inside of Sydney's iconic landmark with a 1-hour guided tour with a special Opera House tour guide. Explore the building's architecture and backstage corners and learn about how it was designed. Students will complete a 'fill-in-blanks' worksheet on the history of Opera House.

Madame Tussauds

This is Australia’s leading wax museum and one of the best things to do in Sydney with kids, featuring 11 zones of famous faces and legends including movie stars, Marvel heroes, world leaders, sporting legends and much more. Students will play "Celebrity Heads" where each participant may ask the audience one 'Yes' or 'No' question at a time. The participants continue to ask questions until they have correctly identified the celebrity.

UTS Tour

Exploring the famous University in Sydney, our local leader will guide you through the different campuses of UTS and talk you through the education system, admission process and general University life in Sydney. Ranked as the #9 best University in Australia - this institution is popular amongst budding international students. Students will come up with some interview questions to ask some University students ie. what they study, how long is their degree, structure of classes.

EF Disco Party

Get ready to dance the night away at the EF Disco Party! We will prepare the school only for you, Lights flash, music pumps, and the dance floor is all yours. Dress to impress, make new friends, and groove to the latest hits with our fantastic leader DJ. It's a night of pure fun Where you will learn the EF DANCE!!! 🎉🕺💃🎶🌟

Graduation BBQ

What's more Aussie than a barbie? We'll be putting up a Sausage Sizzle to farewell their wonderful time in Sydney. The aim is to reflect on their experiences whilst in Sydney and congratulate them for a memorable achievement. At the Graduation, EF Graduation Hats & Certificates will be handed out. Then we will take some class photographs to celebrate the occasion.
